Following the release of the astronomy-centric D810a, Nikon announced the latest model of their mid-range DX-format digital single-lens reflex camera – the Nikon D7200.
Nikon’s new APS-C CMOS sensor-wielding dSLR got a slight shot in the arm which include a nominal increase in pixel count (up by 0.1MP), addition of wireless modules such as Wi-Fi and NFC and an increase in its buffer rate when shooting pictures in JPEG format at 6fps.
Other than that, Nikon was also keen to point out that the D7200 features 51-point autofocus system which will allow users to lock in on their subject even in poorly-lit conditions thanks to its improved low-light sensitivity.
Rounding up the list of improvements that the D7200 has over its predecessor include a more nature-ready body, the ability to capture Full-HD videos at 60fps, and significantly better battery life which is rated at 1110 shots based on CIPA standards.

The new Nikon D7200 is slated to hit the shelves next month and will be retailed for USD1,199.95 for the body-only package. An 18-140mm kit lens can be purchased alongside the camera for an extra USD300.
