Ria of Paramita at 2007 UP Fair

I was able to attend this year’s UP Centennial Fair. Anyway, I really did not expect that the line will be really long. We were in line for more than an hour and was able to start food tripping there even before entering the fair grounds. Anyway, we should have expected the long line because the last day had a great line up even if we weren’t able to finish it. We were outside the fair grounds when Paramita, Datu’s Tribe, Up Dharma Down, Giniling Festival, etc. performed. We were only able to catch the performances of Sugarfree, Cambio, Moonstar88, Chicosci, Slapshock, Greyhoundz, Ursa Minor, Intolerant (heard them for the first time), etc. Anyway, I was not able to take pictures of these bands because there were a lot of people. I would not want to risk myself going in front of the mosh pit. Hehe.

There was a rally last Friday at Ayala Avenue. I did not join in the rally but I was able to witness some parts of it. Prior to the start of the rally, me, Sha, Vien, Joms, and their colleague bumped into Atty. Raymond Fortun. The part of Ayala Avenue between Rufino and Paseo De Roxas Sts. were empty of vehicles. Atty. Fortun had us posed. He asked us to jump (yes, a jump shot!). He also asked us to pose behind the railings with a sad face. Hehe. It was during that time that I’ve learned that he is into photography. I am still waiting to check out the photos he took in the rally last Friday.

First time to take photos in the World Pyro Olympics?
I suggest you to be there early as possible so that you could easily setup your tripod and camera or your camcorder. The best spot would be at the Esplanade, since the fireworks would be launched from a barge near Esplanade.

Expect Traffic Jams along EDSA and places near SM Mall of Asia
If you’re okay with the idea of commuting rather than being stuck for hours, then go ahead and commute. At least you have the option to walk.

Pacoy Fletchero of Typecast

It was a good thing that Mark notified me that there will be no entrance fee charged at a certain time. I went to the gig with Sha. We were able to catch performances by Sinag, Sino Sikat?, Typecast and Up Dharma Down. It was great to catch the performance of Typecast there since I do not have yet photos of the said band in my Flickr Pinoy bands collection. In the gig, MusikLokal.com was formally launched. It was held at Warehouse135 which is located along Yakal St. in Makati City. T-shirts were given away in the contests. Check out more photos in my Multiply.

Itchyworms are currently working on their album which is hopefully to be released in the middle of 2008 (that should be around June 2008). The first time that I was able to watch them perform live was at 70’s Bistro in Cubao. I was still in college at that time. Itchyworms is composed of Jugs Jugueta (guitars and vocals), Chino Singson (guitars), Kelvin Yu (bass) and Jazz Nicolas (drums). Their latest album, Noontime Show, was released under Universal Records way back in 2005. Indeed, it’s time for them to release a new one. Read more to catch their February gig schedule.
