Like the MyPhone My28s, this model is a rare gem in its own authorized outlets, and we were lucky enough to have purchased one yesterday. Here’s a quick unboxing video:

The Flare Lite 2 is an all-polycarbonate 4-inch device that essentially covers lesser footprint despite having lots of similarities with the my28/my28S. When viewed from the front, the colors are easily distinguishable as the sides present themselves with beveled frames. At the front are the 4-inch TFT LCD display, its VGA front camera, and the illuminating capacitive keys.

The volume rockers, sitting above the power/lock button, are located on the right side of the device. The frame presents itself with a glossy finish which can trigger fingerprints and smudges. Like the My28, both the microUSB and the 3.5mm audio ports are at the top.

The back of the device, exuding a matte candy red color, has the rear 5MP camera with its accompanying LED Flash, as well as the speaker grill near the bottom edge. When pried open, you’ll see that the SIM 1 slot has already been occupied by the bundled Cherry Prepaid SIM card, which cannot be removed as it is sealed. Else, your warranty is said to be void. Do take note that Cherry Prepaid is using Globe Telecom as its primary network, and you may use SIMs from other networks in the remaining slot. There is also a dedicated space for the microSD card,

Overall, the Flare Lite 2 feels great on the hand and is a conventional phone for one-handed operation, given its small size. Unless you’re concerned about the slightly outdated OS on board, there’s no reason not to purchase this phone under Php1k.
