Grab temporarily suspends its GrabBike service

After the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a direct order last week addressed to Grab’s parent company, MYTAXI.PH Inc, they have now announced the temporary suspension of GrabBike.

Starting today, February 4, GrabBike will halt their services. This is Grab’s statement regarding the matter in hand:

We stand firmly on our belief that we have created an innovative solution to the country’s transportation problem and we are working towards finding a way to continue providing it to the community. We’re hopeful that the authorities will reach a positive decision regarding the possible regulations to the service.

We’ve done this before with the support of our loyal Grabbers and we hope to be able to do it again with GrabBike.

Grab, then known as GrabTaxi, started offering GrabBike as an additional service within their app last November 2015 with limited operations within Makati CBD and Bonifacio Global City which later expanded to nearby areas.
