“If I will be lucky to be the President next year, I will replicate the project of Gov. Jonvic here in Cavite and I will implement this in the entire country,” Binay said in a speech as reported by Inquirer.net. Binay is referring to Gov. Remulla’s Lingkod Kabitenyo project that provides free WiFi access in select schools and households in Cavite.

According to PhilStar, Binay also wants to partner with the private sector to increase the number and widen the reach of cell sites in the Philippines for faster internet connections. The VP also plans to create a Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to oversee the improvement of communications infrastructure in the country.
