Devices equipped with USB Type-C

The USB Type-C port is actually old news. We first reported it back in late 2013 when it was first announced but people started paying more attention to it when Apple used the technology on their new Macbook. Apple is not the only company that’s using it though. If you want to know what other devices utilizes the new USB Type-C then read on.

Nokia N1

Announced in November 2014, Nokia’s first Android tablet, the N1, is one of the first consumer devices to take advantage of the reversible USB Type-C. However, it’s using the older and less powerful USB 2.0 and not the new USB 3.1 standard.

Innos Yi Luo D6000

This monster of a phone made an appearance earlier this month. It’s main feature is its implementation of dual batteries (one sealed + one removable) which sums up to a capacity of 6000mAh. But it’s other notable feature is its implementation of the USB 3.1 Type-C.

Apple Macbook (2015)

Probably the biggest culprit to why we are paying attention to the new USB interface. The new Macbook is a thing of beauty and uses the new USB 3.1 Type-C interface. However, it received a lot of flak for having only one port.

Google Chromebook Pixel (2015)

Shortly after the announcement of the new Macbook, Google announced the new Chromebook Pixel. In comparison, the new Chromebook boasts two USB 3.1 Type C ports instead of just one.

For now, we can only name four devices that uses USB Type-C but we can surely expect to see more devices sporting the new interface in the near future.
