LTFRB announces Php10 rollback in taxi flag-down rates

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has recently announced a Php10 rollback in the flag-down rates for taxis and airport taxis nationwide.

The rollback will be implemented starting on Monday, March 9, 2015. The new flag-down rates will be Php30 (from Php40) for regular taxis, and Php60 (from Php70) for airport taxis.

LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez has clarified that the rollback is only provisional. Taxi meters will not be recalibrated and would still show a flag-down rate of Php40/Php70. Passengers should take note of the new rates while taxi drivers are then advised to manually deduct Php10 from the total fare. Taxi drivers who fail to implement the rollback will be apprehended.
