The long wait is finally over as the chipmaker formally announces the 5th Generation Intel Core processor lineup which includes a total of 14 new processors under the Core i3, i5 and i7, as well as three new Pentium and Celeron chips.

Based on 14nm manufacturing process, these new 5th-Gen Intel processors are touted to bring 22-percent improvement in 3D graphics performance, an hour-and-half more battery life, and 50% faster video conversion than Haswell-U processors.

The graphics performance improvement is, in large part, credited to the new HD Graphics 5500, HD Graphics 6000 and Intel Iris Graphics 6100 that can be found on the new Core i3, i5 and i7 chips under the Broadwell-U product line.

In addition, Intel has also added some of its home-brewed technologies in to the mix, such as RealSense and Wireless Display (WiDi) Version 5.1 which are both geared for wireless and “more natural and interactive user experiences”.

Here’s the full list of new 5th Generation Intel Core processors:

Intel expects that consumers will start seeing computing devices running on Broadwell-U as early as this month. Meanwhile, Cherry Trail-powered devices are expected to hit the shelves within the first half of this year.
