ASUS unveils VivoMini Desktop PC, starts at $149

Compact desktop PCs are slowly gaining traction in the market, and ASUS is looking to bank on its popularity as it unveiled two models under the new VivoMini product line.

Based on the information that Hexus gathered, the ASUS VivoMini will be available in three barebones models (no storage, no RAM and no OS) and one that’s ready to go right out of the box.

ASUS VivoMini PC

Under the VivoMini lineup are two models; the VivoMini UN42 which runs on Intel Celeron 2957U and the ViviMini UN62 which is powered by either a Core i3-4030U or a Core i5-4210U. The barebones variants can support up to 16GB of RAM and will accept mSATA solid-state drives for storage.

All models of the VivoMini will feature two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort for video out, 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connectivity, Gigabit Ethernet and SDXC card reader. All of these components are encased inside a Zen-inspired body that’s only 42mm thick and comes complete with ASUS’ trademark concentric circle finish at the top.
