Globe Carrier Billing now supports purchases in iTunes

Perhaps the first time we’ve seen this — Globe now allows you to buy apps in the iTunes Store which will be charged along with your postpaid bill.

This service was only included during the recent update of the GCash App for iOS.

The ability to purchase apps from the iTunes store is made possible with the GCash Virtual AMEX card. Once you get it activated, you can now use the details to fill up your credit card information in your iTunes account.

Your purchases in the iTunes store is then charged to your virtual AMEX which will eventually reflect in your postpaid bill during the cut-off period.

It will appear as an additional line item in your bill and will have a credit limit of Php500 per month which should be able to give you somewhere between 5 to 10 paid apps per billing cycle.

Back in August, Globe enabled Direct Carrier Billing for the Google Play Store. This carrier billing for the iTunes store is somewhat “indirect” since it has to go thru the virtual AMEX card.
