Globe ships 100k units, 128GB Gold iPhone 6 still most requested

The 128GB Gold version of the iPhone 6 is still the most requested SKU of Apple’s smartphone this year, according to Globe representatives during the official launch at midnight last night.

Globe is also expecting to complete its shipment of more than 100,000 units of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus by the end of the year as demand for Apple’s smartphone continue to grow.


Close to 200 subscribers lined up last night at the Globe Tower waiting for their new iPhone 6 by midnight.

Globe’s order of more than 100,000 iPhones is led by huge demand for the 128GB Gold model, majority of which were already reserved by Platinum subscribers who are eligible to get them for free on recontracting (Globe has about 40,000 Platinum subscribers). The second most in-demand model is the 64GB Space Gray.

The numbers we got is just in lined with last year’s numbers as reported to the NTC.

Globe imported 95,580 iPhones consisting of 58,680 iPhone 5s and 36,900 iPhone 5c by December 31, 2013 last year while Smart shipped 56,430 units consisting of 35,520 iPhone 5s and 20,910 of the iPhone 5c.
