LG L Fino Dual hands-on, first impressions

Announced back in August, the LG L Fino is an entry-level handset with a design inspired by the Nexus 5. That was eventually released in October but the one we got last week is the dual-SIM version and it’s still going for a suggested retail price of Php7,990.

At first glance, the LG L Fino really looks like a smaller version of the Nexus 5 with that rounded corners and slightly sharp edges. Even the color combination of a black front panel and bezel contrasting a matte white back panel are strikingly similar.

The L Fino ues the Rear Key feature that got started with the G2. Consider the LG L Fino as a cross between a G2 Mini and a Nexus 5, only smaller. It’s got that same good solid build and comfortable grip. The 4.5-inch IPS panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

As for the hardware specifications, the handset has decent configuration starting with a Snapdragon 400 chip.

LG L Fino Dual key specs:
4.5-inch WVGA IPS LCD Display @ 800×480 pixels, 207ppi
Corning Gorilla Glass 3
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz quad-core processor
Adreno 305 Graphics
1GB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
3G/HSPA+ 21Mbps
Micro-SIM, dual stand-by
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS with aGPS support, GLONASS
FM radio with RDS
8MP rear camera with LED flash
VGA front-facing camera
Li-Ion 1,900mAh battery
Android 4.4.2 KitKat
Size: 127.5 x 67.9 x 11.9mm

The specs are akin to that of the Motorola Moto G which we got several months back in Singapore for about Php9k (but has non-expandable storage).

Our Antutu Benchmark showed results in the 16,800 range which is almost the same score as the one we got from the Moto G.

The device is fairly responsive and snappy but you will notice a few lags once several apps are already running in the background. It’s still a pretty capable handset when you consider the quad-core Snapdragon 400 and 1GB of RAM. It even got Kitkat pre-installed right out of the box.

Well post our full review in a week or two but you can already find the LG L Fino available in stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of Php7,990.
