Epson continues to be number one in POS for 5 years

Lazada Philippines

Epson was yet again named the number one Point-of-Sale (POS) printer manufacturer in Southeast Asia by International Data Corporation for five consecutive years in a row, showing the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Results from 2013 showed that the company held 45% market share in the entire Southeast Asia POS printer market. Simply put, almost every other POS printer purchased in 2013 was from Epson.

In addition, Epson maintains its lead from other printer manufacturers in all markets where the Japanese company has presence. In Singapore, they hold 61% of total market share, while Epson in Indonesia holds 54% of the market for POS printers. Both here in Philippines and Malaysia, they hold a 1-in-3 share with 37% and 33%, respectively. Lastly, Epson Thailand holds 45% of the POS printer market.

“POS systems are the backbone of many businesses from F&B to retail and can have a very big impact on things like productivity, efficiency and overheads, which is why we put so much effort into creating the best, most user-intuitive systems we can, and the results show in this great honor we have received,” says Koichi Endo, Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia. “Being the number one POS printer for the past five years, however, does not mean we can rest on our laurels. We have a responsibility to our customers to live up to, and exceed their expectations. It is this dedication to innovation that has led to Epson being named Southeast Asia’s number one POS printers, and it continues to be a great honor.”

Bend tests: iPhone 6, HTC One & more, case helps 6 Plus

Lazada Philippines

The iPhone 6 Plus caused a lot of noise because of its bending issue, resulting in more bend tests to see if other flagship phones have this issue as well and if a case can actually solve the problem.

iPhone 6 Plus

From the same person who brought you the viral bend videos, Unbox Therapy bends the iPhone 6, the HTC One, the new Moto X, the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the iPhone 5S.

Here are the results:

  • The iPhone 6 bends, but not as much as the 6 Plus.
  • The HTC One’s screen lifts up slightly.
  • The new Moto X is claimed to not even creak.
  • The Nokia Lumia 1020 creaks, but solid for the most part.
  • The iPhone 5S is hard to bend as well.

To add to everything, YouTuber Jonathan Morrison also tries to bend the iPhone 6 Plus once again – but this time to try out if a case actually solves the problem. Spoiler? It doesn’t solve it, but it helps a lot. Check that video out down below:

To conclude, the thinness & the size of the phone are the biggest factors in determining if the phone will be bending easily. You can add a case, but the majority of it really does depend on the build quality.

You can check out our initial story of the iPhone 6 & Note 3 bending, and we also have our iPhone 6 review up here.

Nexus 6 reported to be Motorola-made with heavy specs

Lazada Philippines

After a long time of speculations and rumors, 9to5Google reports that they have sources that are directly familiar with Google‘s awaited Nexus 6. It allegedly carries a massive 5.92-inch display with Quad HD resolution and a powerful Snapdragon 805 processor.

nexus 6

Google Nexus 6 (Nexus X) specs from 9to5Google:
5.92-inch Quad HD display @ 2560 x 1440 resolution, 498ppi
2.6GHz Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor
3GB RAM
32GB internal storage
13MP rear camera
4K UHD video capture
2MP front camera
3200mAh battery
Android L

As you may have noticed, the upcoming Nexus 6’s design took heavy inspiration from the current Moto X – only way bigger. This might be Google’s answer to the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus (which is currently plagued with reports of bending issues). Going back to Nexus 6, it’s slated to be available sometime in November that points to a possible October announcement.
