HP Slate 8 Pro with Tegra 4 and Corning Gorilla Glass 3

Corning’s booth here at the CES floor was showing off a lot of the smartphones, tablets and laptops that uses their glass. Among them is the HP Slate 8 Pro that’s protected with Gorilla Glass 3.

The HP Slate 8 Pro is an 8-inch Android Jellybean tablet with a screen resolution of 1600×1200 pixels. It’s also powered by NVidia’s Tegra 4 quad-core processor (4+1 cores) running 1.8GHz per core with 1GB RAM.

Internal storage starts at 16GB with option for expandable storage of 32GB via microSD card.

For connectivity, it has WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and Miracast, but no mobile 3G/4G connectivity.

Internal battery is rated at 5680mAh lithium-polymer which promises up to 11.5 hours of battery life on a single full charge.

There’s a micro-HDMI port that can connects to an external monitor or TV with ultra HD 4K display support. The rear camera is 8MP and the front-facing camera is 720p.

The Slate 8 pro looks really nice with close to full HD resolution, the design is simple yet elegant with the snow white finish. It’s a little thick though at 9.9mm and weighs about 1lb.

The tablet is being sold by HP.com for $329.99.
