Samsung debuts the Galaxy Camera 2

Along with the new mirrorless camera, Samsung also unveiled their upcoming Android-powered point-and-shoot camera dubbed as the Galaxy Camera 2.

The Galaxy Camera 2 inherits all the basic features of its predecessor including the same 23-431mm zoom range, 16MP1/2.3-inch image sensor and the same 4.8-inch touchscreen display on the back that doubles as the main control panel for the Android-powered camera.

Apart from a handful of similarities, the Galaxy Camera 2 has received a few a nominal upgrades that we’re notably missing on the first release. This includes a tilt-able flash head for bouncing off flash, a bigger 2,000mah battery pack and a more powerful engine configuration that promises better performance and image quality.

Samsung also gave the new Galaxy Camera a minor facelift by adding a faux-leather coating to its exterior. Moreover, Sammy has added an NFC chip to the camera’s connectivity arsenal, allowing users to easily share their snaps to other devices.
