2014 is just around the corner and Google has just released its annual Zeitgeist for this year which showcases what the world has searched for in 2013. From there we took a look at the top 10 most Google-searched smartphones and tablets in the country. Find out who is the trendiest by reading the rest of the article below.

For smartphones, Samsung takes the top spot with the Galaxy S4 as the most searched smartphone on Google, followed by the iPhone 5S and the Sony Xperia Z. Samsung actually dominates this list with four phones coming from its arsenal. Surprisingly, the LG G2 didn’t make the list. Apple’s yet to be announced iPhone 6 and the Starmobile Knight are in though at top 5 and top 10, respectively.

For tablets, Apple takes the top two spots with the iPad mini with Retina display and the iPad Air, and takes two more with last year’s iPad 4 and iPad mini. Samsung takes third and fourth with the Galaxy Tab 3 and Galaxy Note 8. We were expecting the Google Nexus 7 (2013) to appear here but like the G2, it didn’t make the cut. Local brand Cherry Mobile takes top 10 for their tablet offerings.

And there you have it – the most searched smartphones and tablets in the country for 2013. Kudos to our local brands for making it to the top 10.
