Is Nokia finally entering the Windows tablet space?

It appears that all the rumor-mongering about Nokia’s plans of releasing its own tablet isn’t all a flight of fancy, as an image of Lumia-inspired prototype has recently surfaced on the web and points us at a Windows-powered tablet.

Based on reports, Nokia’s upcoming Windows RT slate is said to sport most of the characteristics that we’ve come to expect from a high-end tablet. Well, at least that’s what the tipster told The Verge.

Codenamed Sirius, some of the purported features of this tablet includes a 10.1-inch Full-HD screen, a tandem of 6MP (front) and 2MP (back) cameras and a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2GB RAM. Moreover, it is said to pack a sizeable 32GB internal storage, a Micro-SD card slot for additional memory and will support LTE connectivity.

Although the pricing is yet to be announced, it’s been told that it’ll have the same price tag as the Apple iPad (presumably the 32GB, LTE-enabled variant). To give more bang for the buck, however, Nokia is reported to include a keyboard dock that will also serve as a secondary power source for the tablet.

Nokia’s iPad-killer, assuming that it exists, is slated to make its first public appearance at a launch event happening in New York on the 26th of next month.
