Huawei Ascend Y300 lands, priced at Php5,490

Huawei releases the Ascend Y300 in local stores, replacing the popular Ascend Y200 with a bigger screen and Jellybean right out of the box. The Ascend Y200 had a suggested retail price of Php5,490 so Huawei is also making the same for the Y300.

The device was first spotted in Latin America back in June 2012 but only landed in the Philippines this month.

The Ascend Y300 is a simple entry-level handset and follows that same demographic target as the Y200.

Huawei Ascend Y300 specs:
4.0-inch IPS LCD display @ 480×800 pixels
Qualcomm 1.0GHz dual-core processor
512MB RAM
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
GPS with aGPS support
5MP rear camera
0.3MP front-facing camera
Li-Ion 1730mAh battery
Android 4.1 Jellybean

The device might be a little late though considering the Y200 came as far back as June 2012 and the 9 months since then, several other handsets have crossed the Php5k mark.

The Huawei Ascend Y300 should be available in local stores for a retail price of Php5,490.
