Breathtaking Batanes, for the second time around

BYAHILO is turning four this November 2! And what a better way to start this new chapter of travel blogging than to visit the country’s northernmost province for the second time around.

Naidi Hill, Batanes

Yup folks, I’m travelling to Batanes once again! This is already my second time, but I still feel giddy and all.

Batanes is just so breathtaking. I have been to 33 provinces already but I have yet to see a province as mesmerizing as Batanes.

Batanes

Life in Batanes is so laid back. Its natural beauty is still intact. Cows and carabaos running wild and free along the hills. Goats freely grazing beside the road.

The whole place is quiet and peaceful. Batanes claims to have an almost zero crime rate. Probably the lowest in the country. Its jails are empty, except for a few illegal fishers from Taiwan.

Batanes

Batanes is still part of the Philippines but looks very different. It is not like Cebu or Davao or Vigan. Because Batanes is surrounded by waters, freshest seafood is always available for the hungry tummy.

The houses in Batanes has its own story too. The Ivatan people built their houses made of stones that can withstand strongest storm.

Batanes is definitely one of the best eco-destinations in the country today. It is just waiting to be discovered, where endless possibilities of adventure awaits you.

Special thanks to SEAIR and Batanes Cultural Travel Agency for letting BYAHILO experience Breathtaking Batanes again!
