2nd ANIMAHENASYON 2008: Pinoy Animation Festival

We would like to inform you that the Animation Council of the Philippines Inc. (ACPI) will be holding the 2nd ANIMAHENASYON 2008: Pinoy Animation Festival on November 12-16, 2008.
 
Animahenasyon 2008 is an annual festival that features the different animation works of both aspiring and professional animators in the country through a competition. The objective of the festival is to promote original content in Philippine animation and the recognition of the Filipino talent in the field of animation, aiming for local and international excellence and competitiveness.

Competitive and Exhibition Screenings
 
All finalists from among the entries will be programmed and screened at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde, Cultural Center of the Philippines and will have a second screenings at the School of Design & Arts Cinema at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
 
Note: List of finalists and the program will be released first week of November and will depend of the number of entries.
 
Select films for exhibition, which will comprise the best animation works of the many years of animation, will also be screened in both venues.
 
Tickets at P100 per program, discounted for students
 
Opening Night and Awarding Ceremonies
 
The Opening Night will be held at the CCP Little Theatre Lobby on November 12, 2008. The Awarding Ceremonies for the Competition will be at the CCP Little Theatre on November 15, 2008.

Gallery Exhibits for two Lifetime Achievement Awardees
 
An exhibit on the Life and works of 2nd Animahenasyon 2008:Pinoy Animation Festival awardee Mr. Nonoy Marcleo will be mounted at the 8th Floor of the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde School of Design & Arts Campus.
 
Another exhibit on the 2007 Aniamhenasyon Festival awardee Mr. Larry Alcala will also be mounted at the lobby of Tanghalang Manuel Conde.
 
Animation Congress: Writing the History of Philippine Animation
 
A congress which will involve almost all animators, producers, studio owners, students, partners and prime movers of the animation industry will participate in the discussion and documenting the history of Philippine animation through the paper presentation of key people in the industry.
 
The Congress will be from 9 AM to 4 PM at the 8th Floor of the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde School of Design & Arts Campus on November 15, 2008.
 
List of Paper presenters will be announced in October.
 
Fee: P500
 
Masterclasses
 
Animation Experts will be tapped to give a three to four-hour lectures on their own expertise. Two guests Filipino animators from Pixar and Sony Digital Animation are being invited to give masterclasses. Four foreign animation experts from Japan, France and New Zealand are also being invited to complete the six masterclasses.
