BYAHILO is CIA Culinary School Chef for a Day

Last week, BYAHILO was made Chef for a Day. Thanks to the Culinary Institute of Aristocrat (CIA). CIA is a culinary school founded by one of the Philippines best restaurants offering Filipino Foods, the Aristocrat Restaurant.

For the whole day, we did nothing but talk about food, cook food, and talk more about food. It’s all about food.

But I must admit, I am not a cook. I only cook once in a blue moon. And is oftentimes limited to cooking chicken adobo, tinola or fried fish.

So when I was invited to be a chef for a day I was really excited. I have always been dreaming of cooking fancy foods, wearing an apron, and a toque over my head.

The recipes provided to use are not really that hard to do. And it’s fantastically delicious too!

We had Roasted Bell Pepper Soup for starter and Seared Salmon SashimiSalad with Walnut in Orange and Apricot dressing as appetizer. For main course we had Poulet a l’Orange and Involtini alla Sarda. We also had Risotto with Chorizo and Mushroom alla Parmigiana.

For dessert we had a chocolate mousse. Chef Joey Prats made our heavenly dessert the way French people does it. It’s nothing but French goodness. And as Chef Joey describes it: “A simple, elegant, and scrumptious chocolate mousse that is both light and rich. This sensational dessert is a feast for the senses as it transports you to pure dessert bliss. Every single spoonful explodes with rich chocolate madness, melting in your mouth and making you crave for what could be the next closest thing to heaven mankind will ever know. But the best part is the simplicity of its preparation.”
