The province of Bohol, known for its majestic chocolate hills and the cute and cuddly tarsier is once again hold its annual Sandugo Festival 2008. Sandugo Festival is a commemoration of Bohol’s local chieftain Datu Sikatuna’s allegiance to the Spanish Crown. The treaty was marked by a blood compact between the local chieftain Datu Sikatuna and the Spanish conqueror Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
Aside from the commemoration of the two leader’s blood compact, the Sandugo Festival also celebrates the cityhood of Tagbilaran and the establishment of Bohol as a province.
