Owners of the Idol 3 smartphone from Alcatel is getting a refresh in terms of software version as the company releases its awaited Marshmallow update.

The Android 6.0 update is for the unlocked version of the Idol 3. Although, there’s no mention of either if it’s for the 4.7″ or the 5’5″ variant. Anyhow, if you have the smartphone, it’s best to check it out. The update weighs more than 1GB and includes the June 2016 Android security patch.

The Alcatel Idol 3 was exclusively released in the Philippines through Globe Telecom postpaid plan. Since the update is for the unlocked version, the update for Globe’s handset could be later than expected. See our review here.

Lenovo K4 Note receives Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

Good news K4 Note owners! Lenovo has just announced that the latest official Android update is finally seeding to your smartphones.

Lenovo India posted on Twitter that the new mid-range VR-capable handset from the Chinese company is now set to have Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Although, they didn’t post any details about the changes.

Android 6.0 rolls out for Galaxy A9, A5 and A7 to follow

South Korean manufacturing giant Samsung has started rolling out its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to Galaxy A9 devices in China, SamMobile reports.

With the release of the beta-quality version of Android N, it just makes sense for Google to start seedingĀ its Marshmallow software to compatible devices. The OTA (over-the-air) update with build numberĀ A9000ZCU1BPE2 comes with the usual Marshmallow niceties including Google Now on Tap and Doze. Although it initially started in China, we could safely expect the update to arrive soon and you could manually check your device by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

Additionally, it’s also been reported that the A7 (2016) and A5 (2016) could be the next ones to receive the software update.
