The official Universal Media Remote for PS4

Your PlayStation 4 is not only capable of playing quality games but it can also act as a media center for your digital contents. Although, the DualShock 4 controller is not that conducive in navigating menus within videos, so, Sony announces its own Universal Media Remote for the PS4.

The universal remote uses Bluetooth to control your PS4 because the console doesn’t have infrared. It has your common system menu buttons for media navigation plus the iconic triangle, circle, cross, and square or Action buttons. Since it is a universal remote, it can support additional devices (up to 3) like your TV and cable box.

It will be released this October in the U.S., Canada and Mexico for $29.99. We hope our local game stores will have this on their shelves soon.

Nissan officially launches GT Academy in the Philippines

Nissan Philippines Inc. officially launches its GT Academy here in the Philippines which is a program that aims to turn gamers into professional race car drivers. Read more details after the break.

NissanGTAcademy1

For those unfamiliar, the GT Academy was initiated back in 2008. It is basically a driving program from Nissan, Sony, and Polyphony Digital that weeds out Gran Turismo (the popular PlayStation game) players and trains them to apply their on-screen talents on a real car, on a real track.

As we’ve mentioned before, The race to the top is not an easy task as the academy will only choose the best virtual drivers. Once shortlisted, there will be activities to test not only skills, but also the physical endurance of the contestants at the latter part of the training. If you think you have the heart, talent, and the determination to be a professional racer then this might be your ticket in.

The first phase of the try-outs will be happening at malls nationwide starting April 10, 2015. The company is still yet to disclose the venue and time of the said event. They will be announcing it on their Facebook page so be sure to stay tuned as we wait for further details.

WB Games & Rocksteady previews Batman: Arkham Knight

Rumors of the third fourth installment of the Batman game have been making its rounds on the internet as early as the Arkham Origins debuted last year. Recently though, all those hearsays have been laid to rest as Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady Studios released a 4-minute-long reel of the upcoming game dubbed as the Batman: Arkham Knight.

Judging by the game’s official trailer, the upcoming installment has all the makings to be an epic ending to the successful trilogy series, not to mention a great follow-up to the somewhat lackluster Arkham Origins.

According to the Game Informer, the Batmobile will be a “key element” of Arkham Knight as Batman/Bruce Wayne (which BTW is still voiced by Kevin Conroy) faces off with Gotham City’s notorious villains which include Harley Quinn, Penguin and Scarecrow among many others.

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated to make its official debut on October and will be released for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
