Huawei Watch: Huawei’s first smartwatch w/ Android Wear

Along with the MediaPad X2, Huawei has also unveiled their first smartwatch the features a fully circular design, 1.4-inch AMOLED display, Sapphire Crystal, stainless steel frame, heart rate monitor, and powered by Google’s Android Wear – the Huawei Watch.

Huawei MediaPad X2: 7-inch, octa-core, dual-SIM LTE

Huawei has unveiled at the MWC 2015 their latest tablet which packs a 7-inch WUXGA display, 64-bit Kirin octa-core CPU, Android Lollipop, and dual-SIM LTE connectivity – the MediaPad X2.

The MediaPad X2 is the successor to the MediaPad X1 which was also unveiled at the MWC last year.

As you can see from the specs, the MediaPad X2 comes in two variants – the standard 2G RAM with 16GB internal storage in moonlight silver; and the premium 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage in amber gold. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

Acer outs Liquid Jade Z, Liquid Z220 and Liquid Z520

Along with the Liquid M220 Windows Phone, Acer also unveiled three new smartphones from its Liquid Series – the Liquid Jade Z, Liquid Z220 and Liquid Z520.

The Acer Liquid Jade Z features a 5-inch HD IPS Zero Air Gap display with Gorilla Glass 3, 13 megapixel camera with F1.8 aperture, 24-bit Hi-res audio with DTS Studio Sound, and LTE (Cat. 4) connectivity. Powering it is a 64-bit MediaTek quad-core processor housed in a body that is 7.9mm thick and weighs in at 110 g. It has a price tag of 199 Euros or almost Php10k.

Next is the Liquid Z220 which is Acer’s first smartphone to carry Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. It sports a 4-inch WVGA display or equal to 233ppi, dual-SIM support, 5 megapixel 89-degree wide angle camera, and 8GB of internal storage. Powering it is a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. Price tag is at 89 Euros or almost Php4,500.

Lastly we have the Liquid Z520. Acer didn’t provide much information but mentioned that it has a 5-inch WVGA display, 8 megapixel AF rear camera, DTS audio and 8GB of internal storage. It has a price tag of 109 Euros or almost Php5,500.

The Acer Liquid Jade Z and Liquid Z220 will launch in March, followerd by the Liquid Z520 in April.

HTC Vive VR headset brings Virtual Reality to your homes

Along with the One M9 and the Grip, Taiwanese tech company HTC also partnered with Valve to create the Vive VR headset, touting a new virutal reality experience.

Touted as the most immersive experience of any VR package, the Vive comes with a Full Room Scale 360 Degree Solution with Tracked Controllers that lets you you get up, walk around and explore your virtual space, inspect objects from every angle and truly interact with your surroundings.

It even features high-quality graphics, 90-frames-per-second video and touted to have incredible audio fidelity. It also has its own wireless VR controllers, coming in pairs, that are simple and intuitive to use and can be used for a wide range of VR experiences.

The Vive Developer Kit, now in Beta, has some pretty cool game developers on board, including Vertigo Games, Bossa, Barry–Fireproof, Dovetail Games, Wemo Labs, Google, Steel Wool Games and Owlchemy.

Keen to get your hands on this one? The HTC Vive Developer Edition will be launched to content and game creators by Spring, and the consumer edition will be available by the end of 2015.
