Move To iOS App Now Available on Google Play Store

Along with the roll out of the latest version of iOS, Apple has released a new Android app (yes, that’s not a typo) that’s aptly called Move to iOS which makes it easier for existing Android users to transition to their new iOS device.

Coincidentally, Move to iOS is the first (and most likely the last) app that Apple published on Google Play Store. What it does is allows users to transfer data from their Android device running on version 4.0 at the very least to an iOS device through a private wireless connection that the app automatically establishes during the process.

Information that can be transferred from an Android device to an Apple device includes contacts, messages, pictures, songs, videos and email accounts. Users are required to key in their passwords for all of the accounts that were carried over to the new device using this process.

At its current state, Move to iOS is unable to transfer your apps, along with in-app purchases, to the new device. It will, however, provide a list of apps that it was able to detect on the Android device and will search iTunes App Store for an iOS counterpart.

Users will be informed about the free apps that are available on Apple’s mobile platform and will be recommended by Move to iOS to download it to the new device. Paid apps, on the other hand, will be added to the user’s wishlist.

Move to iOS is free and is now available for download on the link below.
