Canon silently outs EOS M10 and PowerShot G5 X

Without any press release, Canon launches a new mirrorless camera and a compact camera through its US online store.

canon-eos-m10

The Canon EOS M10 is a stripped-down version of the Japanese camera maker’s EOS M3. It is treated with a simpler body with an 18-megapixel sensor. That’s 6MP less than the M3, but has the same 25,600 max ISO, 49-point AF, 3-inch high-resolution touchscreen and 1080/30p video capability. And to further tone it down, they have to remove the electronic viewfinder (EVF).

Pricing and availability is not yet available, but three color options are already listed — black, white and gray.

Along with the M10, the PowerShot G5 X was also posted and it sports a 1-inch sensor with a 24-100mm zoom lens, f/1.8 aperture, DIGIC 6 image processor, Vari-angle touch panel and 2.36 million dot EVF. Unlike the M10, this compact camera is already available online for $799.
