Xiaomi products will be available offline soon

Xiaomi products are currently available through online shopping site, Lazada. Lots of customers though have been requesting that Xiaomi makes its products offline. Well, there’s good news as Mi Philippines has announced that Mi products will soon be available through Xiaomi’s official offline partner.

There’s a trade-off though as going offline means that Xiaomi will incur additional operational expenses which will force them to increase their prices. In addition, certain government regulations prevent them from having different prices for online and offline, and as a result, Xiaomi will just maintain offline prices across all selling channels.

To put it simply, Mi products will soon be more expensive compared to their usual online prices. One example is the Mi In-Ear Headphones which now has a bumped up price of Php849 from Php695. But on the bright side, you may soon buy Mi products in physical stores if you don’t like ordering through Lazada.

According to the Singapore Infocomm Development Authority database, the new device will be named as the Mi4i, and it might probably be a low-end version of the Mi4. A Geekbench 3 result also proved that the Mi4i exists, and is said to sport a 1.6GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor, 2GB of RAM, and refreshed MIUI7 on top of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop made along with the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP).

This could very well be initial answers to some teasers Xiaomi has been posting lately:

How much would the top Chinese company sell this smartphone? Will it land on our shores? We’ll find out soon as Xiaomi is set to unveil the Mi4i on a ‘Global Mi phone premiere’ in a few days.
