Megaworld to build upscale neighborhood in Northill Gateway township

Leading integrated urban township developer Megaworld is launching its first upscale residential village in the Visayas and Mindanao in its 53-hectare Northill Gateway township in Bacolod City.

Aptly called Forbes Hill, the high-end neighborhood in the up and coming lifestyle district along the new Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road, will soon rise in a vast 15-hectare prime portion of Bacolod side of the township. It features bigger lot sizes, wide street roads and first-class leisure and recreational amenities, promising a low-density community that evokes exclusivity and privacy to residents.

“Finally, Megaworld is rolling out a premiere residential offering for Bacolod. This is the company’s first venture for a luxury village outside of Metro Manila because we recognize the sophisticated market in this wonderful province,” says Rachelle Penaflorida, vice president for sales and marketing, Megaworld Premier Bacolod.

Only 197 lots will be sold with sizes ranging from 449 square meters to 861 square meters. Prices start at P16,000 to P17,000 per square meter.

“This means there will only be 197 homeowners or even less in Forbes Hill. This is why exclusivity and privacy are guaranteed. And this is the true promise of luxury,” explains Penaflorida.

The upscale neighborhood will feature first-class amenities exclusively for its residents which include an events hall, fitness center, game room, entertainment room, lap pool, children’s pool, a gazebo park and a basketball court.

Megaworld, along with its wholly-owned subsidiary Suntrust Properties, Inc. and in partnership with the Lacson Family, is developing the 53-hectare Northill Gateway which is envisioned to be a refreshing lifestyle district that will house residential villages, a 7.5-hectare mixed-use office and retail development, leisure and recreational hubs as well as institutional facilities.

Through the years, Megaworld has been a known developer of upscale residential neighborhoods in Metro Manila such as McKinley Hill Village in the bustling McKinley Hill township in Fort Bonifacio, Corinthian Hills in Quezon City, McKinley West Village right beside Forbes Park and the upcoming Beverly Hills-inspired Alabang West Village in the rising township of Alabang West in Las Pinas City.

Forbes Hill is just 20 minutes away from the downtown area of Bacolod City and only around 10 minutes away from the new Bacolod People’s House through the new Circumferential Road.

It is also just three minutes away from The Ruins, 10 minutes away from University of St. La Salle, one of the biggest universities in the province, and 15 minutes away from the new Bacolod-Silay Airport.

Megaworld, the country’s leader and pioneer in developing integrated urban townships, is opening two new hotels this year in its two townships in Metro Manila and Iloilo.

Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, which will occupy eight levels of the 12-storey Richmonde Tower in the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, is set to open in June this year. The business hotel will be the first Richmonde Hotel outside of Metro Manila and will have 151 guest rooms.

It will house a restaurant and deli, function rooms, business center, fitness gym as well as a lap pool with its own pool bar.

Megaworld has commissioned world-renowned architectural firm Gettys to design the hotel’s façade, grand lobby, restaurant and guest rooms. Gettys took inspiration from the city’s rich agricultural roots for the hotel’s design concept.

The same firm has designed some of the world’s prestigious hotels such as The Peninsula Hong Kong; Hyatt Regency in Cancun, Mexico; Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai; The Ritz-Carlton in Miami, Florida; Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago; Westin Golf & Spa Resort in Abu Dhabi; Shangri-La Hotel in Beihai, China; and Hard Rock Hotel in Macau, among others.

By second half of the year, another hotel will open in the 25-hectare Newport City, the country’s first 24/7 integrated leisure and entertainment township that is home to the famous Resorts World Manila.

The Belmont Luxury Hotel Newport, just right in front of the new Marriott Grand Ballroom and a walking distance from Resorts World Manila, will stand 10-storeys high with 480 well-designed suites.

The hotel boasts of first class amenities that include pocket gardens and landscaped atrium, 24-hour fitness center and workout area, lap pool with in-water pool lounge, paved sunbathing lounge, massage deck and seating area, pool spa, steam and sauna as well as its own medical clinic.

The hotel will also have its own coffee shop and bar and some retail shops at the ground level.

Last year, Megaworld chairman Dr. Andrew L. Tan announced that the real estate giant along with its sister company Travellers International Hotel Group will be building hotels around the country with a total of 12,000 rooms.

In the next five years, both companies will be expanding to an additional 10,000 new hotel rooms, all of which will be in Megaworld’s township developments.

At present, both Megaworld and Travellers International have already built 1,900 rooms in its existing hotels: Richmonde Hotel Ortigas; Eastwood Richmonde Hotel; Marriott Hotel Manila, Maxims Hotel and Remington Hotel in Newport City; and Fairways and Bluewater in Boracay Newcoast.
