LG G Watch to come in Champagne Gold

LG has just unveiled that their Android Wear-powered G Watch will also come in Champagne Gold upon release.

The Champagne gold is the second color option to the already seen Stealth black model. Hardware specs are still scarce but LG has put up an interactive website which showcases some of the device’s key features like just say ‘Ok Google’ “to get stuff done,” water and dust resistance, and an ‘Always-on’ screen.

The LG G Watch was reported to launch in Q2 (probably in July) with an expected price tag of less than $300.

LG G Watch powered by Android Wear officially unveiled

It’s now official, LG Electronics is indeed working with Google on a new smartwatch called the G Watch. And it’s the first smartwatch to carry Google’s Android Wear platform.

According to LG, the Android Wear-powered G Watch will be compatible with a wide range of Android smartphone and will automatically provide users with relevant information on-the-go or by saying “OK Google” to ask questions or say commands. You can read our article about it here.

“The opportunity to work with Google on LG G Watch was the perfect chance for LG to really pull out all stops in both design and engineering,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG G Watch, LG is continuing the milestones we’ve set in wearables following in the footsteps of the world’s first 3G Touch Watch Phone in 2009 and the Prada Link in 2008. We’re confident that a well-designed device has the potential to take the smart wearable market by storm.”

Official specs of the LG G Watch are yet to be disclosed but a previous tip from @evleaks suggests a 1.65″ IPS LCD (280 x 280) display, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage.

The LG G Watch is is slated to be introduced in the second quarter of 2014, and is the Korean company’s fourth device developed in close collaboration with Google following the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.
