Znaps Is A Magsafe-like Cable For Smartphones

If you’re looking for an innovative cable solution for your charging woes and find that a completely reversible microUSB cable still not groundbreaking enough for you, then maybe the magnetic cable called Znaps will fit the bill.

The company behind Znaps, which also bears the same name as their first brainchild, takes inspiration from the Apple MagSafe and applied the same principle on their fancy USB connector.

Znaps consists of two main components: a miniscule connector with microUSB or Lightning tip and a small adapter that acts as bridge between the connector and a standard MicroUSB/Lightning cable using magnet. The latter also has an LED light that indicates the charging state of the device.

The connector is specifically designed to be inconspicuous so it can be left attached to the smartphone. It is also engineered to play nicely with various smartphone covers, hence eliminating the need to remove the case during charging.

Like the MagSafe, the whole idea behind Znaps is to make it easier to attach a charger to a smartphone regardless of the orientation of the cable. Furthermore, this implementation acts as a breakaway that prevents the handset from being dragged with the cable is pulled.

Znaps had just recently put up a campaign on Kickstarter, yet they have already exceeded their CAD120,000 (Canadian dollars) funding goal by almost six folds. If you’re interested to support the project, make sure to check out their Kickstarter page on the link below.

MicFlip: World’s First Reversible MicroUSB Cable

USB Type C Is fairly new technology and one can make the argument that it’ll take years before it becomes a standard. While many of us wait for that day to come, Winner Gear though it’ll be nice to have a microUSB cable that also has reversible design – a feature limited to USB C in the past. Enter Micro-Flip aka Mic-Flip (pronounced as Mike-Flip), the world’s first microUSB cable which “can be inserted to a device at any angle”.

It’s not just the microUSB end that’s reversible, even the full-sized USB Type A connector also has the same implementation. These plugs are joined together by a non-tangle nylon-braided cable which is available in lengths of 20cm, 100cm and200cm.

Both plugs are gold-plated, which Winner Gear claims to be “corrosion-resistant” and are each housed inside its respective aluminum case.

Check out the company’s short video ad below to know more about the Mic-Flip (should be worth two minutes of your time).

The Winner Gear Mic-Flip is proving to be quite a success as it has easily surpassed the company’s modest goal of raising $6,000 for their product to enter in to mass production.

As of the time publishing, the New York-based company has already raised almost $59,000 for their project with still two weeks left on their campaign. That being said, you still have time to support their campaign or be the first to own a Mic-Flip by pledging a minimum of $15.

Mionix Demos World’s First Smart Gaming Mouse

Manufacturers can only do so much to improve PC peripheral like gaming mouse. In fact, most of the so-called innovations we’ve seen in the past few years have mostly been marketing BS. But the folks over at MionixLabs are looking to shake things up a bit with the Mionix Naos QG – the world’s first gaming mouse with a built-in heart rate monitor and Galvanic Skin Response sensor!

Mionix Naos QG Philippines

Mionix decided to pattern the design of the Naos QG from the Naos 7000; and for good reason since it is regarded by many gamers and tech websites as one of the best gaming mice in the business.

But what set this rodent apart from other “innovative” gaming mice out there actually has little to do with its ergonomic design and superior build quality, rather what lies underneath its skin.

Mionix engineers has placed a pair of sensors inside the Naos QG; one tracks your heart rate and the other measures the gamer’s stress level in real time. The data gathered by these sensors can be analysed or overlaid on the users screen with the accompanying Quantified Gaming (which by the way what the QG stands for) Software that the team is also developing.

To give you guys a better feel of how these sensor works in real life, here’s a short video courtesy of MionixLabs:

MionixLabs is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for the Naos QG and is looking to raise a hundred grand to make their vision a reality. But with only four days to go, they’re still USD12,000 short of their target, so if you’re interested to support their project (and probably be the first few proud owners of a Naos QG), don’t forget to head over to the source link below.
