Exploring the flavors of Ilocos with Electrolux

One of the best things at I have ever experienced in my entire life as a travel blogger is that I am able to savor the unique dishes, and at some point in time, even experienced how the locals would prepare these dishes that placed their locality in the culinary map.

Exploring Vigan, in Style…

Why take the bus when you can fly the Airbus? That line I will never forget when we were in Laoag a few weeks ago during the Maiden Flight of SEAIR Tiger Airways. Laoag is the Gateway to Ilocandia, It is in Laoag where all roads leading to adventure sites historical sites Foodie spots begin.

Here are some photos I took during the World Costume Festival held last week in Vigan Ilocos Sur. After all the Lectures, workshops, the grand Parade,we also had some great time exploring the which has also been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This is I guess, the best and the most memorable trip to Ilocos I ever had!

World Costume Festival 2013 Grand Parade

The last time the Philippines hosted the World Costume Festival was in 2001 in Davao. It took twelve long years before the event is staged again in the country. But this time the World Costume Festival 2013 was hosted in the Heritage City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur.

World Costume Festival 2013

The Heritage City of Vigan together with Sinag Arts Foundation and GMA Network hosted this year’s World Costume Festival. the last time that the Philippines hosted the event was in 2001 in Davao City.

I was so thrilled to participate in this year’s gathering of the world’s costume designers and scenographers. And Vigan is definitely the best place to become the backdrop of all the activities lined up.

So off I flew to Laoag City via SEAIR Tiger Airways. From Laoag, which is the Gateway to Ilocandia, we were then shuttled to Vigan. We stayed at Casa Rica along Calle Quirino corner Calle Abaya, one of the newer accommodations here in Vigan.
