Dad spends only 56 minutes with their son, study says

Because fathers spend most of their time at work to bring home the bacon, dads spend an average of only 56 minutes a day with their sons. But despite that fathers today work harder than ever, it is still important that their relationships should never be compromised.

According to Carmie de Leon, vice president for Sales and Marketing of Healthway Medical, fathers play a huge role in their son’s development, and the quality of time they spend together is important in preparation for manhood. “A dad’s presence can do much to motivate their child to understand the ways of life and give them the emotional stability they need in going through the ups and downs of daily life,” de Leon says.

She adds, “With the mounting financial woes every Filipino household have to face, fathers have no choice but to spend more time at work. This time, Healthway is giving them enough reason to spend time with their son during one of the most crucial events in his life—his passage to manhood.”

Study shows that fatherly love is critical to a child’s development. This time, show your son some love by accompanying him to any Healthway Medical clinic between March 1 and June 30, 2015 for his circumcision.

“His passage to manhood is more than just a traditional Filipino practice; it lessens his risks of acquiring infections. In fact, study shows that uncircumcised boys have higher risk of acquiring urinary tract infection (UTI),” de Leon emphasizes.

Now that summer is finally here, make sure to schedule your son for an appointment to Healthway Medical clinics located in Alabang Town Center, Festival Supermall, Greenbelt 5, Market! Market!, Shangri-La Plaza, and SM The Block.

Healthway Medical, the most trusted and preferred network of mall-based clinics in the Philippines, was recently selected to partner with Paramount Life and General Insurance Company (PLGIC) to provide additional benefits for the existing and prospective members of Paramount’s ER card.

“We know that Healthway is a reliable partner and that they are the experts and most trusted and preferred mall-based clinics,” Mr. George T. Tiu, President and COO of PLGIC said in an interview.

ER Card is the company’s pre-paid, one-time-use card that covers emergency medical expenses and is accepted in more than 300 MedAsia accredited hospitals throughout the country.

Depending on the chosen plan amount, the card offers clients two other benefits: Accidental Death benefit and/ or Disablement and Burial Assistance.

“Our ER Card is already offering various services that are very beneficial for our clientsbut that won’t stop us from improving. We want to be better. We want to improve our services to provide more convenience to our clients,” Mr. Tiu added.

Because of the company’s partnership with Healthway Medical, Paramount’s ER Card now offers unlimited consultation with a Primary Care Physician (family medicine and internal medicine, including general dentist).

“The goal of this project is not just business partnership. More than increasing our clients, we really want to improve the overall medical access and experience of our customers by giving them more options and benefits—something that will make their medical experience more convenient,” Ms. Carmie de Leon, VP for Sales and Marketing of Healthway Medical said in an article.

The venture will also allow clients to have a 10% discount on laboratory, diagnostic tests and dental services and a fixed fee of P 500.00 for special consultations.

Asked on the why they have chosen Healthway Medical, Mr. Tiu said, “It’s simple. We know how excellent Healthway can be in terms of providing the best health services to their clients. They are among the country’s most trusted clinics and we believe in them.”

Healthway Medical, the country’s most-preferred and trusted mall-based clinic expands its reach by catering to global markets through its partnership with I-Remit, the largest Filipino-owned non-bank remittance service provider.

The venture allows Healthway Medical to offer its premium healthcare services to more than 2.2 million Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and other Filipinos abroad through I-Remit’s iShop. Considered a “One-Stop Shop Delivery Service”, iShop accepts orders and coordinates the delivery of Pinoy gifts and pasalubong from Filipinos abroad to their respective beneficiaries and loved ones back home.

“By making our healthcare services available online, OFWs and foreigners can take care of themselves and their families without having to worry about being far away from home,” says Carmie de Leon, Healthway Medical Vice President for Sales and Marketing.

Healthway Medical will now be offering Health Screening services as well as its premium executive checkup package, HealthCheQ International, to over 1,400 remittance outlets located in 26 countries and territories covered by I-Remit.

“I-Remit’s presence in twenty-six countries across the world allows us to reward clients with value added service, and that’s where Healthway Medical fits into the picture,” says I-Remit Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing Alejandro Pepino. “I think one of the main concerns of an OFW is when they send money to the Philippines, they want to have a sense of security that is actually addressing the needs of the family. Our multiple remittance channels let OFWs make purchases in advance for their loved ones in the Philippines, and Healthway Medical is there to provide much-needed preventive care for their families.”

Healthway Medical’s Health Screenings provide diagnostic procedures that help determine diseases even before the onset of observable symptoms. This enables Healthway Medical’s healthcare professionals to apply preventive health procedures and easily treat conditions before they get worse. Among the health care packages offered are basic medical exams for male and female, diabetes screening, and dental services such as teeth whitening.

HealthCheQ International, on the other hand, offers a more comprehensive medical package that includes laboratory, diagnostic services, imaging studies, and special examinations. Available in transferrable coupons, HealthCheQ International is designed to provide medical and dental services for the entire family. The package also allows patients to choose among tests and procedures that best suit their needs, including cosmetic services such as warts removal and other facial-care procedures.

On top of premium healthcare, Healthway Medical extends its exclusive service with a complete wellness experience by offering an overnight stay at any of Healthway Medical’s partner hotels or resorts for a relaxing getaway.
