Startup of Starfish Field Offshore Trinidad and Tobago

Chevron Trinidad and Tobago Resources SRL and its joint venture partner BG Trinidad and Tobago (BG T&T) have announced the start of gas production from the first well in the Starfish Field located offshore Trinidad and Tobago.

The Starfish project consists of three subsea wells and a 6.2-mile (10-km) subsea tieback to the existing Dolphin A Platform. There, gas is processed, combined with Dolphin Field production, and delivered through existing pipelines onshore to supply contractual commitments with the National Gas Company of Trinidad & Tobago Limited and Atlantic LNG.

The Starfish Field, discovered in 1998, forms part of the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA). ECMA is operated by BG T&T on behalf of the joint venture with Chevron Trinidad and Tobago Resources SRL and BG T&T, each holding a 50-percent working interest in the area. The Starfish startup represents another significant production milestone for the joint venture.

“The successful development of Starfish is the result of a robust partnership between Chevron and BG affiliates that integrates unique skills and expertise of both companies to deliver new energy production,” said Ali Moshiri, president of Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company.
