Nintendo’s first mobile game is launching on March 17

Nintendo’s first mobile game is coming to Android and iOS devices next week as the company revealed its exact launching date.

miitomo-03-17

Miitomo is finally heading to mobile phones and tablets on March 17. This is after the months of delay from the original end of 2015 launch due to promotional reasons. Pre-registrations are already open here and will close on March 16, just in time before it’s open to the general public.

Unfortunately, it’s initially available in the following countries only:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • France
  • Belgium
  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Luxembourg
  • Spain
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Russia
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Japan

You might have heard before that Miitomo is not exactly the Nintendo arcade-like game we’re expecting but it’s more of a chat app with moving avatars that interacts with other users in real time.

Having multiple accounts logged in will benefit those who have a couple of IG accounts used as personal or for business. To add an additional account, go to settings, scroll down, and choose Add Account. To switch, just tap your username at the top of the screen when in your profile and choose which account to use. Keep in mind that you can only add up to 5 accounts.

To have the said feature, all you have to do is update to the latest version of Instagram, which is 7.15. This is available on both major mobile platforms of iOS and Android. Just head to the App Store or Play Store and hit update.

App in Focus: PreFIX PH

With the rise of Dual SIM phones, a lot of mobile users have at least two SIM cards, one for Smart (or Talk ‘N Text) and/or Globe (or TM) and/or Sun Cellular. And since the popularity of text messaging plus the competitive prepaid services, it’s easy to buy SIM cards and change whenever you want to.

If you’re one of those who has a lot of contacts from multiple telcos, you might find this app useful.

PREFIXPH-01

The PreFIX PH app is basically a dialer and phonebook app altogether. It scans and identifies your contact numbers’ network based on the prefix number. It also sorts them accordingly. Aside from that, there’s a built-in dialer for an unlisted number you’re about to contact. It’s a smart dialler that instantly detects the carrier of the number. You can even try to input every possible prefix combination to memorize the pattern if you have time.

PREFIXPH-3

That’s the main feature of the app, which is available for free. There are two additional extra features which you can avail for if you will purchase for Php46. The promo directory which allows you to save promo codes and easily send them for easy registration, and the group messaging, which, obviously, allows you to send multiple messages at once under one network — perfect for sending quotes, chain messages, and the like.

PREFIXPH-2

Gone are the days where it’s easy to identify the carrier of the number you’re contacting with the simple 0915 of Globe or the popular 0919 of Smart. Heck, my new postpaid number starts with 0977, which is from Globe. But with the PreFIX PH, it’s less confusing. It’s available for free, so trying it won’t hurt.

U-HOP is PH’s first app-based shuttle service

If you’re on one of the daily commuters and always find yourself lining up to public transportations morning after morning, then you might want to check this out. U-HOP is the Philippines’ first app-based shuttle service and offers convenience and efficiency to its users.

The service works by first signing up and having a card that you could load just like you would a cellphone. Once that’s done, you would choose your preferred method of payment:

Daily round trips (per week/month)
Unlimited rides (per week/month)

This is where the card comes into play as you’d use its credits to pay via the software. The app also lets you choose your preferred pick up spot, time, and destination which it will all consider and run through its system to group passengers and allocate them on the same vehicle.

Coming from the shuttles’ end, they will notify you three times of its distance to your pickup spot. “If you’re late, the shuttle will not wait for you. But U-HOP allows you to rebook the next ride. You are entitled to one free rebooking for a week. If you have bought the monthly service, you are entitled to five rebooking for that month,” this is according to their press release.

Once signed up, members could avail the following services and choose from the servicing areas:

Round Trip – Php693.00 Weekly
Round Trip – Php2,970.00 Monthly
Unli Ride – Php1,400 Weekly
Unli Ride – Php6,000 Monthly

Metro Manila
Bulacan
Rizal
Laguna
Metro Cebu

It seems like a promising service to somehow ease and help commuters with their ride to and from their workplaces. To know more about who they are and what they do, give their website a visit.
