Globe signs agreement to shift from Patrol 117 to 911

Ernest Cu, Globe President & CEO,  has also signed an agreement with the government to show its strong support for the new nationwide emergency hotline 911 initiative which will replace 117.

Aside from Globe, other signatories to the agreement are the country’s major telecommunications providers that include the company’s units Bayan Telecommunications and Innove.

“As a telecommunications provider, Globe recognizes that communication is critical for an emergency response mechanism to be effective. We are hopeful that the 911 system will be an effective tool in addressing the country’s emergency concerns” – Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO

Hotline 911 is expected to be implemented starting August 1, 2016. It will be the country’s emergency hotline number for incidents like police assistance, fires, medical, calamities, and other emergencies.

Keep in mind that it is always safe to buy these handsets from authorized resellers instead of buying cheap iPhone that will only last in a short period of time.

Samsung Teases Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition

A special edition Olympic-inspired Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is likely to make its way to the market as the summer Olympic games are nearly ahead of us.

The Samsung Mobile Deutschland Facebook page shows a quick teaser video featuring the logo for the upcoming Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition. It also suggest a release date of July 7 with their post, which says “07.07.2016. Ge7 ready”. This is not the first time Samsung has released a limited edition Galaxy S7 Edge handset. Last June, they released the Injustice Edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge, featuring Batman-inspired design, UI, and accessories.
