Facebook introduces Hello dialer app for Android

Facebook has introduced a new app called Hello that works as a dialer for your smartphone.

Hello was built by the same team that made Messenger. As mentioned earlier, it works as a dialer and manages the contacts saved on your smartphone. What makes Hello special is that it uses information from Facebook and integrates it with your existing contacts. It will even show you info about who’s calling you even if you don’t have that number saved on your phone, granted that the info is saved and publicly available on Facebook.

Below are the key features of Hello:

• See who’s calling you, even if you don’t have that phone number saved in your phone.
• Easily block unwanted calls.
• Automatically block calls from numbers that have been blocked by a lot of other people.
• Search your phone contacts and people and places on Facebook, without switching between apps.
• Always have the latest info about your contacts, including their profile pictures and birthdays.
• Open a Facebook profile or Page with just one tap.
• Call and text for free with Messenger.
• Call, add and edit contacts — just like you do on your phone.

Facebook says they are still currently testing the app but it is already available for Android. Locally it’s not yet available on the Play Store but you can search for it on the web and sideload it on your smartphone.
