Ford Philippines Delivers All-time Record Month

Ford Philippines announced it delivered an all-time record monthly performance in September with retail sales jumping 63 percent year-over-year to 2,010 units.

The record month capped off the company’s best-ever quarterly performance in the Philippines with overall retail sales rising 71 percent in the July-September quarter to 5,700 units.

The record monthly and quarterly totals were driven by continued demand across the Ford lineup, including the all-new EcoSport which in September delivered its best month since being launched in the Philippines.

“Our product-led transformation and expanding Ford showroom in the Philippines is giving customers even more ways to connect with the Ford brand and our segment-leading vehicles,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “The EcoSport is a great addition to our lineup, and nameplates like Ranger, Explorer, Everest and Fiesta are continuing to do very well this year.”

The all-new EcoSport compact urban SUV, which continues to help define a whole new vehicle segment in the Philippines, delivered September retail sales of 699 units. The EcoSport has become Ford’s second most popular nameplate in the Philippines since it was launched in April, with total retail sales of 3,380 units.

“The compact EcoSport is a right-sized vehicle that was developed with the market’s traffic and road conditions in mind. Combine this with its practical smart features like SYNC and Hill Launch Assist, and a very attractive price point, and it’s really creating its own space in the market,” explained Hart.

The class-defining Ranger pickup delivered monthly retail sales that rose 75 percent year-over-year to 767 units. The September performance capped an all-time record quarter for Ranger in the Philippines with sales that soared 84 percent from the same quarter last year to 2,224 units.
“We’re continuing to see strong sales across the full Ranger lineup, both automatic and manual transmissions, and across the country, helping to underscore the versatility of this unmatched pickup truck,” said Hart.
Ford’s popular Everest family SUV continues to be a hit, with September retail sales of 249 units, helping drive year-to-date sales that have increased more than 21 percent to 2,439 units.

The sporty Fiesta contributed to the record quarter with retail sales of 479 units. The Fiesta is available with either Ford’s global 1.5L TiVCT engine, or high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers the power and performance of a naturally-aspirated 1.6L petrol engine, while delivering class-leading fuel economy and emissions levels.

Sales of the mid-sized Explorer premium SUV saw its retail sales jump 66 percent in September to 78 units, capping a year-to-date performance with sales rising 17 percent to 858 units.

Ford’s year-to-date sales have risen 52 percent through the first three quarters to 14,564 units, putting the company on course for an all-time record sales year.

To support its fast-growing customer base in the Philippines, Ford is continuing with the expansion of its nationwide dealer network, which included the opening of Ford Baguio last week. New dealerships planned for opening next month include Ford Alabang and Ford Zamboanga.

“Our rapidly growing dealer network in the Philippines underscores our commitment to provide an unmatched customer and ownership experience,” said Hart.

The Sisley S90 has already been priced in China for CNY1,999 (Php14K directly converted). If you’d notice, it does share some similarities with the iPhone 6 in terms of its form factor. The way the product shots are arranged and positioned closely resemble Apple’s promotional photos. Coincidence? We think not. We’re wondering if that’s what you’re paying for since its asking price is pretty steep considering its so-so specs.
