It’s official: Android L is Lollipop

After months of speculation over the new Android L name, internet search giant Google has finally unveiled the name to follow Kitkat: Android Lollipop.

As seen from the technical preview, Lollipop is designed to be flexible and will work on all new devices under Google’s new design philosophy called Material Design. It also features a better battery management under Project Volta. As we have reported, it also features better Security, Device Sharing, Google Now access and Connectivity.

The new Android operating system is scheduled to ship out with all new Nexus devices and will roll out globally in the coming weeks.

In other related news, Nexus 6 is now official as well as the Nexus 9 and they both run Android Lollipop out of the box!

Google officially unveils the Motorola Nexus 6

Google has take the wraps off of its newest Nexus smartphone. The Nexus 6, just like it was rumored to be called, sports a huge display with 2K resolution and a speedy Snapdragon processor. Read more details after the break.

The Nexus 6 sells for $649 for an unlocked model but it will be available for preorder starting October 29th and will make its way to store shelves starting November.
