Kitch Cafe: design inspirations

After my little post on Cafe Noriter Taft, I’d like to feature again some design inspiration. Knowing how I love to be in coffeeshops, it’s nice when the the interiors are nicely done and your eyes wander to conversation pieces here and there.

Kitch’ (short for kitchen) is a cafe tucked away in some corner of Makati’s Amorsolo corner Pasay Road, just a short walk away from Little Tokyo. It’s relatively small, but there’s stairs that lead to a more spacious second floor.

The one thing I noticed: no two plates were alike.

Hubby loved their house burger (P250). It was good tasting, as he said – a hefty (more than a half pound) grilled beef patty topped with bacon, melted cheddar, portobello mushrooms, roasted capsicum and aioli sauce.

The adobo cream pasta didn’t really bowl me over as it hardly had a hint of adobo when I tasted it. Plus at P220, it was rather overpriced. I’d rather have the burger! If I must mention, the pan de sal in this place is a must try…

Blondies for dessert! (P35 each) These treats resemble butterscotch bars and the Kitch’ Cafe version even has nuts and toasted coconut in them.

Stacking cookbooks by the counter is a nice touch and a great space-saver. Don’t forget to say hello to the lucky cat! :D

I love the collection of interesting ceramic plates on the wall.

Overall, a nice place to relax when you’re tired of the Makati grind…. or even to hold a small party. I can come back again to try their sparse menu, maybe more of the bread and the flavored latte.
