Galit sa mandurugas na airport taxi

Nagpapasalamat ako kay Atty. Melvin Matibag,general manager ng Manila International Airport Authority, sa kanyang aksyon agad sa tangkang panloloko na ginawa ng driver ng Yellow taxi sa akin noong Biyernes.

Noong Linggo, tinawagan niya ako at sinabi niyang dinala na ng taxi operator ang taxi driver sa kanyang opisina at pinatawan ng kaukulang parusa: hindi na siya makapagbiyahe sa airport. Banned na siya.

Sabi ni GM Matibag, galit talaga siya sa mga mandurugas na taxi drivers sa airport dahil nag laking kasiraan ang kanilang binibigay sa bansa.

Pagdating ng turista at mga kababayan nating galling ibang bansa, kung wala silang sariling sundo, taxi driver ang una nilang kontak. Tapos lolokohin kaagad sila? Ang sama.

Grabe pala talaga ang lokohan ng mga taxi diyan sa airport . Maintidihan ko yan sa mga kolorum. Ngunit nakakadismaya na pati pala sa Yellow taxi , na accredited ng MIAA, ay garapalan ang lokohan.

Marami ang sumulat sa akin at nagbahagi ng kanilang masamang karanasan sa airport taxi. Katulad ng kaibigan ng kapatid ni Floriano Resco na nalagasan ng P3,500 mula airport hanggang Marikina.

Kuwento rin ni Ron Valerio na nasa Switzerland ang malaki kahihiyan na dulot ng mga manlolokong taxi driver ditto sa Pilipinas.

Nang malaman dawn g coach niyang Canadian na Pilipino siya, kaagad ikinuwento ang masama niyang karanasan sa airport taxi na siningil siyang P600 papunta sa kanyang hotel sa Roxas Blvd, tapat ng U.S. Embassy. Nang umalis siya, nag hotel taxi siya, P300 lang.

Nangyari din daw yun kay Bernard Lucero na nasa Germany nang sinundo niya ang kanyang Nanay. “Horrible experience,” sabi niya.

Kuwento naman ni Joyce na nasa Japan, noong 1997 mula sa airport mga 5 pm siya dumating mula Leyte papuntang Abad Santos. “ Nang nasa loob na ako ng taxi saka lang niya sinabi na kontrata daw sila samantalang bago ako sumakay tinanong ko muna kung metro ba siya umuo siya kaya ako sumakay.”

Ikot daw sila ng ikot inabot sila ng 9 pm, Baclaran pa rin sila. “Kaya kami natagalan dahil pilit nya akong pinagbabayad dun sa inabot ng metro ayaw naman nyang ihinto yong taxi kaya umabot nang ganung halaga. Ibinaba nya ako at di ko siya binayaran.”

“Mula baclaran karay-karay ko ang malaking bagahe nagjeep nalang ako papuntang Abad santos. Grabe ang experience ko na yun hanggang ngayon parang bangungot parin kapag aking maalala,” sabi ni Joyce.

Si Chi yap naman, ikinuwento ang nangyari sa apat na international students. “ Sa Makati lang ang destinasyon, dinala sila sa Bulacan.”

Ikot na ikot daw sila at sianbi ng driver na nawawala sila. Hinihingin sila ng dagdag na P5,000 para dalhin sila pabalik sa airport.

Naglabas daw ang isa ng lapis at itinutok sa driver. Natakot daw ang driver at ibinaba sila sa Makati. Hindi sila nagbayad.
Napakaraming horror stories tungkol sa airport taxi. Pinadala ko kay GM Matibag lahat.

Sana maalis na sa airport ang mga manlolokong taxi driver.

These #PurpleThumb Twitter updates will be automatically posted on the live blog, where they can be read by the millions of readers who visit the Yahoo! Philippines site.
