Jolla C announced along with a new Sailfish Community Device Program

Remember Jolla, a start-up company by former Nokia and MeeGo employees which released their own smartphone? They now have a second version dubbed as the Jolla C.

The new smartphone from Jolla is part of the new Sailfish Community Device Program made for developers who will then get exclusive access to live community talks, events, and to the new phone which will have 1000 units only.

The phone is running Sailfish OS 2.0 in stock version. It’s got a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD, Snapdragon 212, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel selfie cam, and a 2500mAh battery.

The Jolla C is expected to ship in by July 2016.

Jolla outs Sailfish-powered smartphone

Jolla Mobile, an independent Finland-based company that develops an operating system for mobile devices called Sailfish OS, has unveiled their first smartphone, the Jolla.

The Jolla smartphone sports a 4.5-inch HD “Estrade” display, dual-core processor, 4G LTE, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card support, 8 megapixel AF rear camera, user-replaceable battery, and an interchangeable rear shell called “The Other Half”. Running at the heart of the Jolla is the gesture-based Sailfish OS with Android app support.

The Jolla has a price tag of 399 Euros or around Php21,000, and will start shipping by the end of 2013. Those interested can pre-order the device here.
