Hewlett-Packard’s looking to enter the Android scene

HP may have failed in their first attempt at the tablet industry, but it seems that we haven’t seen the last of them as suggested by the speculation about their plans of releasing a new breed of slates.

But instead of using Web OS for their upcoming tablets, HP is said to be looking in to incorporating Google’s mobile platform on their next venture. According to ReadWrite, the tech site that started it all, two anonymous informants have tipped them about HP’s plans of releasing a slew of Android tablets.

In addition to this, one of the tipsters said that HP’s upcoming tablet may be “one of the first tablets to ship with the Tegra 4 processor”. The source also claims that the rumoured tablet has been in the works since November and may be unveiled in the second half of this year.

HP remains mum about this topic, but they are holding a series of closed-door meetings during the Mobile World Congress which may shed some more light on their upcoming Android slate, if ever there is one. Will the tides turn in favour of Hewlett-Packard this time? What do you guy think?
