Samsung Galaxy S5 prepaid kit price — Php34,990

The Php34,990 price is the prepaid kit price from Globe. It is possible that the suggested retail price by Samsung for the Philippines is different (hopefully lower).

Last year, Globe was selling the prepaid kit of the Galaxy S4 at Php30,990 which was also the SRP by Samsung. If that is the case, then expect retail stores to be selling the Galaxy S5 in the Php35k range.

Globe is also offering the Galaxy S5 on postpaid plans here.

Globe Telecom will start accepting pre-orders of the new Samsung Galaxy S5 today with the Platinum Subscribers getting first dibs on the handsets which will be offered in various plans.

We received an early copy of the pricing and postpaid plans. Here are the basic ones under a typical 24-month contract:

Samsung Galaxy S5 16GB for 24-month contract:

Php16,800 cash-out on MySuperPlan 999 (with 600 Gadget PV)
Php12,000 cash-out on MySuperPlan 1299 (with 800 Gadget PV)
Php7,200 cash-out on MySuperPlan 1799 (with 1,100 Gadget PV)
Free on MySuperPlan 2499 (with 1,526 Gadget PV)
Free on MySuperPlan 3799 (with 1,526 Gadget PV)

There’s also a combo for the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Gear at Plan 5K or a Php2,800 cash-out for Plan 3799.

Handsets will be available by April 11 but only the black and the white colors will be available for the 16GB variant (no 32GB).

There are other lock-up periods available — 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 months. The plan pricing above is for the 24-month period.
