Samsung launches Galaxy W

Incorporating phone functionalities on tablets, particularly on seven-inchers, are nothing new these days. That’s why Samsung decided to take a slightly different approach and came up with the Galaxy W, a big-ass smartphone which is reminiscent to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3, but with a 7-inch HD display and is powered by quad-core processor with 1.5GB RAM.

Samsung Galaxy W specs:
7-inch HD (1280×720) TFT display
1.2GHz quad-core processor
1.5GB RAM
16GB internal storage
Expandable up to 64GB
8 megapixel rear camera
1.9 megapixel front-facing camera
LTE-Advance
WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS w/ A-GPS, GLONASS
3200mAh battery
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
191.8 x 99.6 x 8.8mm
245g

Apart from the things listed above, some of the other notable features of the ginormous Galaxy W include the addition of nifty multi-tasking apps (split-screen, pop-up video, etc.) to its software arsenal, as well as a faux-leather-covered posterior which similar to ones found on the Galaxy Note 3.

The new Samsung Galaxy W currently retails for 499,400 won or roughly around Php19,200 in the current conversion rate and is available in Black, Red and White variants. As of the moment, the handset is only being offered in South Korea and there’s no word if it’ll ship outside of that country.
