Acer outs Liquid S2, records 4K UHD videos!

Not one to be beaten to the punch by its competitors, Acer has officially announced the “world’s first smartphone with 4K recording functionality”; the Liquid S2. But that’s not the only edge that this handset over its high-end contemporaries.

The camera responsible for the aforementioned feat is the S2’s 13MP rear camera. Besides recoding 4K-quality videos, it can also shoot 4x Slow Motion and 60fps 1080p clips, as well as a 27MP Panorama stills. Moreover, the handset is also equipped with an impressive 2MP front-mounted snapper that can shoot 1080p videos and has an 88-degree wide field of view.

In addition to its impressive optics, Acer also added a few handy post-processing tools to further improve the quality of your shots. One of the enhancements that I personally like is the Exposure Control which gives users the ability to adjust the exposure, and even the FOCUS, of the picture after it was taken.

Having these features are great, but what really sets the Liquid S2 apart is the inclusion of a four (4) LED ring flash that’s situated around the 13MP camera. I know some of you may not be as excited as I am about this component, but believe me when I say that it does wonders to your photos, particularly for Macro and Portraits.

As far as its smartphone-related features, the Liquid S2 also has all the bells and whistles that we’ve come to expect on a premium handset. This includes 6-inch full-HD display, a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM and a sizeable 3,300mAh battery pack. Here’s the full rundown of its specs:

Availability of the Acer Liquid S2 is slated on October. Pricing, on the other hand, is yet to be announced.
