LG G Watch R arriving on December 1

Announced back in August, LG is finally releasing the LG G Watch R in the Philippines this December. Our source points to a possible launch date of December 1 but that’s still subject to when the BOC (Customs) will send them out of the ports.

This 2nd-generation smartwatch from LG succeeds the original G Watch (read our review here) which has a square face. The G Watch R has a rounded face with OLED display, thus the R suffix in the name.

LG G Watch R specs:
1.3-inch P-OLED Display @ 320×320 pixels
1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
512MB RAM
4GB internal storage
9-Axis (Gyro/ Accelerometer/ Compass)
Barometer
photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor – to monitor heartbeat
Dust and Water Resistant (IP67)
410mAh battery
Android Wear OS

The original G Watch sold for US$229 in the US Play Store and also released in the Philippines a couple of months ago at Php8,990. We’re hoping the LG G Watch R will be sold at the same price point.

Xiaomi outs 9.9mm thick 5,000mAh Mi Power Bank

There’s no stopping Xiaomi when it comes to power banks as it has announced its latest that packs a 5,000mAh capacity and a body that is just 9.9mm thick.

In comparison, Xiaomi’s current power bank offerings (5,200mAh and 10,400mAh) are 22mm thick. This new power bank is just 9.9mm thick but sports a lower capacity. Still, a welcome feature for those who don’t like the bulk of the older power banks.

The 5,000mAh Mi Power Bank has a price tag of 49 Yuan (almost Php360) and will be available in China on November 25.

Early this month, Xiaomi teased the 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank. It is also official with a price tag of 129 Yuan (almost Php950). Check out the unboxing video below.
