BYAHILO’s Newest Discovery in Bacolod: Pietro Kaffee

Saturday afternoon, after out out-of-town walking tour, my friends and I decided to scrap the trip to Panaad Park and Stadium for the annual Panaad Festival 2008 due to heavy rains. As a plan B, we all went to Robinson’s Place Bacolod to check out what’s new and what’s hot here. We are already at the counter when we my friend Edsil suggested that we should just go to the SM Bacolod instead.

Pietro Kaffee

Edsil swears that there’s a cafe in SM that serves good coffee and mouth-watering foods. Without any second thought we left the mall took a cab and headed to the Bacolod Reclamation Area where Bacolod’s newest shopping mall, the SM Bacolod stands.

Pietro Kaffee

The cab driver dropped us right in front of the Pietro Kaffee. When then made a beeline to the counter to have our caffeine fix. Kiko and I ordered Hazelnut coffee. Edsil ordered a weird Pineapple shake that has lots of milk in it. (But it taste good!)

Pietro Kaffee

The coffee tastes good. After all, it’s Lavazza coffee. One of the best brands of coffee from Italy. A few minutes later Edsil and Kiko decided to order a plate of pizza. The pizza is priced 150 Pesos, but because 105Pesos in the receipt because of their promo offer.

Pietro Kaffee

And cheap pizza doesn’t mean inferior quality.

That’s what Pietro Kaffee Pizaa is all about. Their pizza is a new found discovery! I love their crust. It’s not too thin not think. Just the right thickness. Freshly cooked and overloaded with toppings. Generous amount of cheese topped with sliced onions ham pepperoni and a whole lot more. And it looks like the 12-inch 105-Peso pizza is not enough for the three of us, we ordered another plate just to satisfy our cravings.

Pietro Kaffee

Definitely a two-thumbs up from BYAHILO! A must-try when in Bacolod City.

I have also talked to the store manager and she told me that Pietro Kaffee currently serves piping hot coffee and delectable foods at the SM Mall in Bacolod. She added, however, that they will soon be franchising their business in key locations like Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.

Get Free Traffic from Social Networking Sites

Social Networking comes in many shapes and forms, but the good thing is that it’s easy to dabble in and I’ve, personally, seen great results with little effort.

It’s free to try, so there are no excuses.

Here’s how it works. You sign up for one or more of the programs below (all are free).
• StumbleUpon.com
• Digg.com
• Reddit.com

(You can search Google or other search engines to find hundreds more. This is just for starters.)

Next, update your profile on each site you’ve joined, including your URL and photo.

Then, the next time you post something of interest on your blog (or see something on a friend’s blog), you just submit it to the sites above.

Many of these Social Networking sites expect you to be an active participant. You’re expected to rate and comment on other people’s contributions. Just jump in and play with it and watch your stats to see what is and is not working. You’ll see the traffic start to trickle in if you play by the rules and share quality information. (Don’t be afraid to have an opinion and stand out!)

The Banana Gangbang Rock Festival

Banana Gangbang Rock festival

This is the most awaited music event in The Man Blog history! It will be held on May 3, 2008 (this Saturday) at Bela Bar, Greenhills. And if you haven’t been there, take a look at this map. It will save you from trouble, believe me. D

Featuring bands of such notable celebrities such as Mike “Fucking” Villar, Marco Palinar, Lauren Dado, and some hot Dominic Ochoa lookalike named Ade Magnaye.

“But Unca Ade,” you ask, “How the hell am I gonna get my face rocked off if I don’t know what bands will be playing?” Well, young padawan (oh lookee I inserted a Star Wars joke! I’m a nerd!), the bands that will be playing are:

  • Lose Your Beer Belly
  • Zoo
  • Tempestuous
  • Sanity Kit

Also, non TMB bands are playing also, like:

  • Mannequin
  • Drift
  • Furiez
  • 30th of March

I’ll see you there. D

Shifting from iTunes to SongBird

SongBird is an open source media player developed by Mozilla that is mashed up with the web. It’s not just a player. It’s also a platform. SongBird is still in its 0.5 version. Maybe when version 1.0 comes out, I’ll install this. For the mean time, I’d like to share to you some useful add-ons if you’re shifting from iTunes.

QuickTime Playback
This is a must if you’re converting from iTunes, most especially if you have CDs copied to your desktop/laptop via iTunes since it uses the m4a format.

iBird
If you love how the iTunes looks, then this should be on your add-on list.

iPod Device Support
This add-on will allow you to play your iPod from SongBird and synchronize it with your SongBird library. This will also allow you to copy songs to your iPod. You still have to check comments in the add-on page and see if there’s an issue with a particular iPod device.

iTunes Library Importer
Import your iTunes library to SongBird. ‘Nuff said. D

USB Mass-Storage Device
And if you’re using a USB mass-storage media device (aside from iPod), then this add-on will be useful for you. This does not support Mac Intel though. It only works with Windows machines.
