Jellybean update for Samsung Tab 2 7.0 WiFi

Slowly but surely, Samsung has been seeding the Jelly bean update for the devices included on their list. The most recent addition to the Jelly bean club is the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 WiFi (GT-P3110) who joins the SGS3 and Galaxy Note 10.1.

Tab2

Some French users have already received and it is can be applied via Samsung Kies or OTA update. It’s a bit fascinating though why Samsung released the update for the P3110 and not for its data-enabled counterpart the P3100.

There’s no word when the update will reach our shore and if the GT-P3100 will ever get the update. But as always, we’ll spread the word out once it does.

Nexus 7 gets Android 4.2 Jellybean update

Just got the notification of an update last night with my Google Nexus 7 and found out it was for the latest Android 4.2 Jellybean.

The update was about 80MB in size and was done in less than 15 minutes.

Announced a couple of weeks ago, Android 4.2 (still codenamed Jellybean) introduced a lot of improvements and fixed a number of bugs from 4.1.2. A complete list of what’s new with Android 4.2 are listed here.

There was a few cosmetic changes in the UI of the Nexus 7, which includes a panel shortcut for the dropdown menu. The panel also includes a profile tile that represents the logged in user (which now supports multiple profiles).

Google also rolled out the same Android 4.2 update to the Galaxy Nexus yesterday.

GoPro app for Android now out

Just two weeks after the release of GoPro app for iOS devices, the company has just recently ported the app to the Google Play Store for Android 4+ users.

GoPro

One of the limitations of the GoPro cameras is its lack of display, that’s why the California based manufacturer made a companion app to address just that. Not only does this app lets users see what the snapper sees, it also allows them to control some of the camera’s basic features (Power On/Off and Start/Stop recording) and give info about the camera’s battery and storage status.

Here’s a short video tutorial on how to sync your GoPro camera with your handset and the things you need to have in order to do so.

Unfortunately, the GoPro app only supports the HD Hero2 for now, but we assume that the recently launched GoPro Hero3 will be included in the subsequent version of the app. The company also mentioned that they’re planning to include features like video and photo streaming from camera to device/web, SNS sharing and multi-camera control.
