Malacañang yesterday said government would allow its critics to hold a prayer rally on Friday but the justice department would monitor it for seditious statements.

When we were sent to the breathtaking Batanes, we sent on a mission to create a photo essay at the end of our three days two nights tour. With all the picturesque views all over me. The rugged terrains, the windswept hills, the grazing cows and the running carabaos all left me out of words. If Batanes is a painting, it could have been the painter’s masterpiece.
This was supposed to be last January 28, then moved to February 11. And finally, the date has already been nailed: February 18, 2008. The date when BYAHILO finally steps on his 30th provice visited.

Among the main attractions are the state of the city address that will be delivered by various sectors in the city, a flea market and live band performances at the Rizal Park and at the newly built People’s Park, parades around the city, and the putting up of giant TV screens in public places so Dabawenyos could watch the Manny Pacquiao- Juan Miguel Marquez fight.
It will be the first time that the mayor is heading the executive committee.
